Info About This Christian Event: As part of its event-filled Women's Month 2007 celebration, Dr. Angela D. Dillard shares insights from her research that led to her best selling book, Faith in the City, Preaching Radical Social Change in Detroit. Her book spans more than three decades and is organized around the biographies of Reverends Charles A. Hill and Albert B. Cleage, Jr. of Hartford and Shrine of the Black Madonna respectively. Dr. Dillard is an associate professor of Afroamerican and African Studies at the University of Michigan. She specializes in American and African American intellectual history, religious studies, critical race theory, and the history of political ideologies and social movements in the United States. There is free parking surrounding the handicapped accessible site.
